Meet The Team

I have been a midwife since 2002 working internationally and now settled in my homeland of Denmark, whilst working clinically in 2015 when I saw the need for a device which aids clinicians whilst suturing all degrees of perineal trauma, this is when the Hegenberger retractor idea was born.

The journey has been an exciting one and it has been truly inspirational to see the Hegenberger Retractor being used by so many women in all corners of the world, I am excited to continue the journey and help as many women as possible achieve a better port-partum outcome.

I have worked as a Midwife in the NHS for over 20 years enjoying all aspects of midwifery and being privileged to be a part of many women’s birth experiences.

After a particularly thought-provoking birth I choose to specialize in Perineal health and childbirth related trauma having a particular interest in OASI (obstetric anal sphincter injuries).

My journey has brought me to Hegenberger Medical where I am enjoying learning more about global childbirth and being able to have an impact on postpartum care that women receive around the world.

Dr. Jim Greenberg received his undergraduate B.A. degree in 1984 from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts, and his M.D. degree from New York University School of Medicine in 1988.

He completed his post-graduate residency education in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at the Brigham & Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospitals from 1988 to 1992.  Dr. Greenberg then entered clinical practice in obstetrics and gynecology.

He is on the faculty at Harvard Medical School where he attained the rank of Associate Clinical Professor. Dr. Greenberg has been actively engaged in clinical research as a physician-scientist throughout his career and has coauthored over 100 publications, abstracts and videos.

In 2000, Dr. Greenberg was appointed the Chief of Gynecology at the Brigham & Women’s Faulkner Hospital and a Vice Chairman of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. In addition to his committee positions within the Mass General Brigham Healthcare system, Dr. Greenberg has served as a women’s healthcare consultant for hospitals in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Rwanda, Senegal and China.

Dr. Romanzi is a public health educator, academic urogynecologist and global health leader in safe surgery, maternal/newborn and reproductive health. She holds dual certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology for Obstetrics and Gynecology.

As well as in the subspecialty of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery and a Master’s of Science in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
